People
One record per person, twelve tabs deep, and the source every other module reads.
Contract, pay, documents, onboarding progress and history sit on a single record. Edit rights narrow as the data gets more sensitive, and anything that affects pay keeps its own history.

What it does
The record and the work of keeping it accurate, from the first day to the last.
Onboarding, profile, contract, compensation, documents, attendance, leave, timesheets, expenses, payslips, performance and assets, plus an audit log, on one person.
Anything affecting pay keeps the old value, the new value, who changed it and when, readable without leaving the field.
Employees request changes to sensitive fields instead of being given edit rights. The request routes to whoever owns that data.
Contracts, identity documents, certifications and letters, with expiry dates that raise a task before they lapse.
One checklist shared by people, IT and finance, so the laptop, the bank detail and the signed contract are tracked together.
Exit steps in order, blocked on unreturned assets, closed with a final settlement that runs as an off cycle payment.

The same record every other module reads.
Try it: move between the tabs on one record.
What it reads and writes
No copies of the people list. This module reads the record and hands its approved output to the next one.
Who sees what
Access is scoped by role and reporting line, not granted per screen.
- Employee
- Their own record, with read only sensitive fields and a request to change.
- Manager
- Their reporting line, without compensation unless granted.
- People team
- Every record, with field level history and bulk edit.
- Finance
- Pay affecting fields across the company, nothing else.
